You know, looking through my previous LJ posts, I've realized that I have little to no actual content outside of quizzes and memes. I've had a reluctance, in the past, to voicing my opinion in written form, and self-doubt coupled with laziness has kept me from writing here on more than one occasion. Today was going to be yet another failed attempt at posting something that required mental effort, but I decided to try and break old habits by forcing myself to write.

Guh! I cannot get enough of the new Casshern Sins ED. It's called Hikari to Kage, by Shinji Kuno, and its a slow, ballad type song, and the lyrics are from the point of view of a man speaking half to himself, and half in prayer. He's torn about how he's reached this point in life, what he wants to make of himself, and the song is pleading and wistful. It's very fitting for Casshern's point of view, and I think it captures the gentle and vulnerable side of him really well.

I really really want this song darnit!! *sits on hands until the single comes out on the 28th*

Lots of stress lately, been working on my JET app, hopefully I'll get that done in time. If not, I guess I'll be finding a job for a year and studying for my GREs. ^^;;

I feel a bit like I'm running a marathon, and every now and then I get the energy to do a sprint and cover some good distance, but on the whole it's me holding my ribs and wheezing pathetically. The end is in sight at least, for what that's worth.

I've been watching a lot of Casshern lately, and I'm completely addicted. The old school sentai vibe mixed with the particular brand of emo that Casshern is sporting totally pushes my anime buttons. Shannon, Katie, go watch this! Anne, maybe you too, though it's pretty dark (but not much blood, cause they're all robots!).

Yay, I type faster than I thought I did! Woot!

Also, I'm a horrible person who wastes money. But, I'm a horrible person who wastes money on a new mp3 player~~woo~~!!

It's a Sony Walkman NW-A808 and it's a shiny happy blue color that matches my phone back home. It's supposed to have 30 hours of battery life, and 8GB for music or video. I tested the screen at Seiden, and the resolution is really sharp for its size, but as it is still charging, I have no idea how good the quality actually is yet. It was fairly cheap though, due to the New Year's sale, so either way it's a good bargain!

Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to leave the country in about three days, and I've decided to make an LJ to chronicle my time there! I'll be crossposting to the ADP blog, but the LJ one will have a lot of personal info like photos, videos, and names and things, so I'm gonna be a little more cautious and make it friends only. The blog is hibari_in_japan, and if you want to follow what I'm up to just friend it and I'll friend you back, if I know who you are, which I probably will since I don't think strangers read my LJ anyway. ^^ Oh, and by the way, my sister fine and on vacation~

Friday is my last DnD session before I fly off to Japan, and I'm really really REALLY going to miss playing with everyone, seriously guys I LOVE YOU LIEK WHOA.

Our DnD group is very prolific with its production of art/fic/MUSIC etc, and I feel like the sketches I contribute, while fun to do, don't really capture some of the stuff I'm visualizing in my head. So...I decided to go the craftsy route!

My character, Buran, is eventually going to become a Master of Masks. Master of Masks craft special masks for themselves that are each imbued with a set of special abilities. The very first mask that Buran crafts for himself plays to the way he envisions himself at this point in time. It's the assassin's mask, and it allows him to sneak attack, to hide and move silently more efficiently, as well as a couple other abilities.
( I imagined it to look something like this. )

The mask is made of pieces of "leather", stitched together with metal wire. I'm thinking Buran didn't use real blood to decorate the mask, hopefully, unless he used his own which is entirely possible. I used fabric paint. ^^;; The cowl is built into the mask, to cover any recognizable features. Who's modeling the mask in the pictures? ...my Mom. XDDD

Hello everyone! As some of you know, I'm currently house locked because I'm puppysitting. If you think Mom's protective of me, just see how she is with our lil' Buttercup, SERIOUSLY. Anyway, that means I'm chillin at Chateau Ballon until the end of the week. I thought to myself, Mom must be going crazy wanting to see if Butterbutt is alright, and then I thought, hey! Cute puppy! Who on my flist wouldn't want to see that? Thus, Puppypost! And then I can link this to Mom so she can know our little squirt is doing well. ^^ Enjoy!
